You know by now I love a good prosecco! If you haven’t heard of or tasted prosecco (shock, horror!), let me tell you a little bit about it! Prosecco is a white sparkling wine named after the town it was originally made in: Prosecco, Italy. Prosecco is made from glera grapes, and now prosecco is produced in Veneto and/or Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.
Prosecco is one of the first wines I ever fell in love with! Just like my personality, I like anything that’s bubbly! Prosecco is slightly sweet, bubbly, and bright. I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Cortona, in Tuscany Italy. More often than not, if I ordered a drink, it was prosecco! To me, prosecco isn’t just for special occasions. I love life enough every day that I feel like prosecco should be enjoyed any time!
In fact, I loved prosecco so much that I got a bottle for my wedding day to share with Chaz! We weren’t even engaged yet 🙂 I got that bottle and I saved it for TWO YEARS until we got married. It was so special to pop open that bottle and enjoy it with our wedding cake.
I love prosecco by itself, and I also love it in a cocktail! The flavor combinations in this Blackberry Mint cocktail are SO delicious!! So fresh, bright, and sweet to compliment the prosecco. You can use fresh blackberries when they’re in season, and frozen blackberries any other time!
I used Riondo Prosecco in this recipe. It’s an authentic Italian sparkling wine, and it has won awards as the #1 Prosecco in Italy! You can’t beat that! 🙂 To me, Riondo Prosecco represents the relaxed Italian lifestyle, but is still so affordable! I love that they also sell a twist-off cap, so I’m not terrified to open it! With the holidays coming up, I know I’ll be including Riondo Prosecco in all of the holiday parties I’ll be hosting and attending- it makes a great gift!
