The Rice Krispie Treats:
- 1.5 T butter (or coconut oil for dairy free)
- 2 c miniature marshmallows
- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
The Spider Decorations:
- 1/2 c miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 12 miniature marshmallows
- 24 miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
The Rice Krispie Treats:
- In a medium pan on the stove on low heat, melt the butter and the marshmallows. Constantly stir until they are completely blended.
- Add the rice krispie cereal and stir until combined, then place in an ungreased 9×9 in square dish and allow to cool.
- Cut into 12 rectangles and place on parchment paper.
The Spider Decorations:
- Melt the chocolate chips (in a pan or in the microwave) and place in a piping bag or a Ziploc bag and cut the corner off. Just make sure you start small with the hole! You can always make it bigger 😉
- Pipe an X on the treats, then add another squattier x, making 8 legs total.
- Once all treats have their legs, cut a slightly larger hole in your bag, and pipe a circle for the spiders’ bellies.
- Cut each of the miniature marshmallows in half, and place them on the spiders’ bellies while the chocolate is still melted.
- Add a tiny dot of chocolate to the back of each miniature chocolate chip and place on the marshmallow eyes.
- Allow to cool completely and serve!
