Have you ever bothered to check the content label on the back of your wine bottle? Well, guess what, there probably isn’t any. And that’s because these large wine conglomerates do not want you to know what’s in them.
The truth is, to make wine in large quantities and exhibit different taste profiles, those large factories use a lot of additives and chemicals. And by the way, just because a wine is organic doesn’t make it natural.
Natural wines only make up less than 1% of the world’s wine supply. In this episode, Todd White, the Founder of Dry Farm Wines, talks about the dark secrets of the wine industry and how natural wines make a much healthier and tastier option. The largest buyer and seller of natural wines in the world, Dry Farm Wines are sugar-free, additive-free, lower in alcohol, and irrigation-free – saving around a billion gallons of water per year.
Like the food industry, the wine industry apparently has so much going on behind the scenes. And this episode has just given me so much clarity around what we should be looking for in wines. Hence, if you must drink wine, choose what’s going to make you feel the best with the lowest risk.
In this episode, you will hear:
- How Todd grew Dry Farm Wines
- Why the wine industry loves higher alcohols
- The dark secrets of the wine business
- What makes a natural wine
- The difference between wild yeast and lab-cultured yeast
- Some dry farming basics
- Getting the word out to make an impact
